Wow, I have been insanely busy! I started my first week as a high school history teacher and have been going crazy putting together my lesson plans. On top of all of this, today was the Super Bowl. While I would have preferred to stay home with my work, I think it's important to be able to hold a decent conversation on large cultural events that might interest my students, so I watched the Super Bowl.
The experience inspired me to do a Super Bowl theme show and what better way to do it than to play Friends Forever's masterpiece, Killball. Killball is an album based around a fictional futuristic mutant sporting event to the death. If you aren't familiar with Friends Forever, check this out:
Then I decided to play Football Blues by The Holy Modal Rounders
To follow Killball and Football Blues, I have chosen to play a set of music from New Orleans.
