Coming Down The Mountain

Tonight's theme is all about mountains.  I know very little about plate tectonics but I do know that without them, bluegrass musicians would have less to write about.  All songs today are about mountains: be they in space, leading to Castle Dracula, be they foggy and broken down or blue ridged, big rock and candied - this show is about them.  Enjoy.

Graduation Day

Today I graduated.  I went to the ceremony.  I stayed awake.  That's about it.  Not much pomp.  Minimal circumstance.  Tonight I'm doing a show about it, taking the ceremony step by step. 

I realize I should do a Mother's Day episode, but there will be other Mothers days, but I think I'm only graduating Grad school once, so I'm sticking with this.  The ceremony listed below is in accordance with the program from today's ceremony as well as my own commentary.

Amoeba Garage Sale

This is not an advertisement.  This is a recommendation.  Amoeba's garage sale is ridiculous.  I got 38 45s for under $17.  Good records too.  Tonight I will be playing all records that I bought this week.  I also bought 4 records from Origami in Echo Park which I will be playing tonight too.

I also got to DJ at Amoeba, this afternoon.  I've wanted to do that for a really long time and it seems to have gone really well.  I want to thank everyone who came out and everyone who was working for making it one of the best times I have ever had DJing.
